What causes brown stems..?
    #1958083 - 09/27/03 09:27 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

I have a small casing of Gulf Coast and all the shrooms are growing fine but the stems seem a little brown. What causes this?

How many times do I have to tell you, I was running through the woods and tripped on some mushrooms!!! Well, at least I'm not lying.

Does not sound any wrong to me.... I've never grown GC but i know "the same strain can look different using different cultivation TEKs"... So if you're sure you did everything right and it's not another spore that survives the sterilization/pasturization, you're doin' OK!... (happened to me... ) If you don't use any dung + straw substrate , that should be fine!.. Good luck!...

The word truth...... doesn't make any sense..... As if the word sense...... which isn't the truth.........

Why not use dung/straw substrate?
