Trip Rituals

I have this little ritual I like to do every time I trip. After I dose, I find something that I can do drastically different than I normally would. It's never anything complicated but it symbolizes that I'm ready and willing to accept change in to my life, a huge factor in enjoying a good trip.
For instance on my last trip, I did something REALLY out of the ordinary for myself, and that's simply tossing my roaches while I was walking around, instead of saving them. Other things I've done are sit cross-legged on the couch and play guitar with my opposite hands. When I trip, this is the only thing that has been a consistent part of my experience, and I find it helps put me in the right mindset to enjoy a different perspective.
So Shroomery, what rituals do you have for your trip sessions? It could be as simple as smoking a bowl or listening to particular music, let's hear it. I'm always open for some good ideas!

Keep things interesting expect interesting things to happen.. I like how you continue to challenge yourself.
My rituals are somewhat different, it's like every time things.. I either eat really early before a trip, or not at all. I usually make a tea. I usually keep opiates on me in case things go sour.. Opiates calm me down. Some how out of all my trips, I've forgotten to listen to music?.. So next trip I'm adding a playlist. I like to be alone usually, with the exception of a few trusted friends. I like to be in the comfort of a place i know well.. I never answer my phone, never talk to sober people lol..
I have a lot of personal rules/rituals i preform before tripping.. Like going over a check list before going on vacation.. I'm pretty anal retentive about it too.

I definitely feel you there dude. I'm always trying to have a trip space with a nice, good vibe. Not too much clutter, the right people around. Tripping is SO personal, so I find it hard to not do everything I can to accommodate myself. When I first started getting in to ayahuasca I couldn't figure out why I couldn't fucking keep it down and I felt so uncomfortable. Then after a week or two I realized that simple things like too much shit on the coffee table and the kitchen counter was making me uneasy and was causing me stress, which made my trippy head say "HEY! You got better shit to do and don't be bumping in to this shit!"
Once I figured that out, it's been smooth sailing ever since.

My pre trip ritual for just about any substance is religously clean with insence burning. If I'm taking a very large dose of mushrooms or LSD, I will sit and meditate for about an hour with the substance in my hand, try to feel the essence of the shear power that the substance obtains, and how it has the power to change me for the better. Once in a pretty good very aware like state, eyes still closed I drop, and then meditate till I feel the effects come on. Gives the trip a very nice cleanliness and clear headedness that I dont get other wise. With DMT I will just sit there and meditate till im not nervous any more. Some times its pretty quick, some times not, ive smoked it 4 times, and havent blasted off yet, so I still really dont know what Im getting into. But a millagram scale is on the way for proper dosing.

I'm nowhere close to being prepared for an aya trip..
I have a sense of respect for people that can endure mind-blowing intense trips..
Fun fact: few months after my first mushroom trip i realized i Hadn't eaten meat since the day before the trip, for some reason after that day, and still today, i have a certain disgust for beef and chicken and what not, with the obvious exception of bacon... I fuckng love bacon.. but almost any other raw meat will make me gag for some reason. I feel uneasy now just thinking of the smell.

I don't have any issue with raw meat. If I could eat an all sushi diet I would do so, with the exception of the occasional mushrooms.

I always make a nice trippy playlist of music so i dont have to think about it and just really lose it with some friends. I have a really big house with a game room with a pool table, ping pong table, etc. We like to go in there and start to dose in there and do anything we can to get it off our minds that we are about to go on a adventurous trip.
A little ritual to get slammed by the mushroom god

Pretty much this, except only mushrooms, no L. As for the D.... I soar.
White sage is your friend.
I also like to reserve mushroom trips for the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month. I call those my "days of reflection"
