not enough moisture in substrate?
    #1957205 - 09/27/03 01:02 PM (20 years, 6 months ago)

Hello
this guy prepared some WBS. Soaked overnight, drained, PC'd. They look a little too dry, though. He thinks they will colonize, but there might not be enough moisture to fruit. Can he add water somehow? or add a kind of wet casing after they are colonized?
Any ideas, or should he just start over?

He wants to use these in trays.. cased grain. I guess he could dunk, and then break up and case.

Can you dunk birdseed, or will it fall apart?

Mix that colonized birdseed with some sterile damp verm before casing it. It will have all the moisture it needs.
