I found these last night. There were quite a few ofthem. They were not growing on the poo jus kinda out in the short grass all by them self. I know that they arent cubes and probably arent active. Im just curious as to what they are.

Those are Agaricus. Identification to species is fairly difficult in that genus, but we can get close.

Cut one of them in half vertically, then scrape the inside with your knife edge to bruise it (not gently). Then let us know about any color changes.

We also need to know what they smell like. The odor is usually strongest either where the stem joins the cap or at the base of the stem. If you can't seem to detect any odor, try crushing the base of the stem on one and sniffing a bit more.

Happy mushrooming!

this is not a Psilocybe cubensis, you mean the flesh turned the color of the gills which is reddish/brown?

One way to help ID an Agericus is by a yellow staining (not blue) and by odor. Some have an almondy sort of smell to them. The yellow color change typically takes a few minutes. Over time the cut area will usually turn brown on any agericus type, watch for the yellowing.

Typical odors you might find are almondy (sweet) or phenolic (ink, metallic, library paste).

Bruising colors in Agaricus are typically yellow, brown, or reddish. There are no blue bruising Agaricus species.

Agaricus are not active. Many of them are edible (you buy them at the grocery), and many of them are poisonous.
