Maybe we could set up an auction for posts. Like, up on the block we have a set of 100 posts for bid...

The bidding starts at $1,000.00...

Hey bidda bidda bidda bidda hey!

I think that's a good idea. It would be pretty easy to add to the BB script, too. I haven't done it yet simply because I haven't worked out the specifics. What additional titles should be added? How many posts should you need before moving up to the new titles?

Suggestions please.

I like some of the suggestions from Sin Bad maybe it should go something like....

100-Executive member

500-Elder member

1000-Veteran member

2000-Venerable member or Wise Ancient One

The idea is good but what happens when people post crap just to post so they can a veteran or some other title. Maybe some voting to give the person the title if he has done worthy posts.... Fuck it. sounds good to me.

I think there has to be more than that.. like..

1-10 posts --- Child

10 to 20 --- Teenager

20--30 --- Adult Years

40--50 --- Working Years

50--60 --- Againg Years

60--70 --- Old Aged

70--80 Lucky To Be Alive

80-100 -- seniour member

100 to 500 -- queen

500 to 1000 -- king

1000 to 1500 -- Veteran member

1500 to 2000 -- The Wise One

2000 to 5000 God

you get the idea, thats just roughly, maby put a bit more though into the names and how much... I really like this idea and would like to see it happen, maby also, consider a post 75 to 100 charecters long, and 1 to 74 charecters long a .5 post (dont show Posts: 75.5 just like 75 untill two .5's and then 76) so we dont get cheeting etc..

my spelling sucks, I typed this fast...

I don't know. I think a lot of people put way way way too much stock in post count, like it's dick size or something. I mean, .5 of a post?

I don't really care much about posting, but I think maybe those with a lot should have the title Old Fart. But then again maybe this will just lead to a lot of fruitless and small posts and me-too replies by people trying to get a better name.

Personally I would really love it if I could get a permanent title Resident Mad Scientist - Experimental Procedures Division that wouldn't be too hard now, would it?

i like it just the way it is...

BUT!! ATTN: MY abORIGINAL IDEA!!

i do like the Veteran title - it should be influenced by 1. how long the persons been at the shroomery AND 2. by # of posts made.

it would also be good to have a POST HOG title for those who make 50+ posts in a day...(i think 50s a good number)...the POST HOG title would be branded under the nick for like 3 months so the moron can learn a lesson.

I think this is a good idea... it adds a little more flavor to the board... But when it comes to what the titles should be???? Hmmmm I'll have to think about that.

Seems like the majority of people think that it is a good idea, so it's just up to the shroomery computer experts to make the changes needed.

I definately like the idea of having Elders.

So maybe:
100 - Exectutive Member
500 - Elder
1000- Veteran
2000- Emporer
5000- Mushroom Lord

True, a few people may post any old shit just to rise the ranks, but most people aren't going to bother.

I would have thought that any other form of ranking, (ie someone mentioned the length of a post should have some infulence) would be to complicated.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing this idea put into practice soon.

i agree with prophet. if a whole bunch of new titles were created, there would be a shitload of useless posts created simply for new members to raise their ratings. besides, the number of posts you have doesn't make you more knowlegable about the subject....i do think that at least one new title should be created. that of ENLIGHTENED member. this would be for someone out there that knows their shit, and is willing to help out everyone. i can think of a few canadites of the top of my head that have given out extremely useful and accurate information, and would be worthy of this title. this title would be bestowed upon the member by a moderator that feels the member has made proper posts. simply put, some members do more for the community than others, and should be recognized for their work.

i remember posting this idea quite a while ago,and everyone thought it was a bad idea.

if it does happen,i think havening names like enlightened one or veteran is dumb.use something that has to do with mushrooms.like go up in posts with different strenghts of shrooms.

like:
50 posts=stuntzii

2000 posts =azurescen etc.
