Ive dumpster dived.
Not really motivated to doing it these days, but it can be very rewarding. Would consider doing it if i move out of the city. Too much hassle here, locked dumpsters and what not.
The large compactor machines at the major grocers and department stores can be full of really decent things.
I support those who do it - our society is shamefully wasteful, and I would honestly rather spend my time foraging dumpsters than to work fulltime to make ends meet. That said ... probably a lifestyle for those younger than me (at heart.)

Yeah i've eaten gross stuff, and never got sick.
Probably at least as likely to get sick from mishandled food products in the grocery store, than dumpster dived produce.
Dumpster diving meat is definately disgusting though.

the intestine is most of the immune system, if I consciously work toward having a healthy digestive tract the chances of getting ill from washed food are slim to none. I have not been sick in over a year.
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night

How did you get in the compactors? Is it safe?
When I wanted to go dumpster diving, I drove around and looked at different places but they all had compactors.
