I would love a salt water tank but right now I don't have the time, money or space. Maybe in the future when I get my own place and have the money to support it.
I plan on having a house filled with unique and exotic animals

When I first read the title of your thread starterI instantly nearly started to weep as it reminded me of this song..
You took me back to the late 80's with that post so I had to post that song... as to your boyfriends fish tank I instantly thought 'top of the line' because fish are pets and they have feelings and personalities like all animals so your best bet is to take a trip to a local Asiatik fish monger or breeder and get good advise in person..

Ive been really thinking about doing a Jellyfish tank instead
Ive seen conflicting things about whether or not I could put a clown fish or two in with them. I think as long as the tank was big enough it would be OK

I would not do jellyfish at all. Not easy to take care of.

From what I have been reading they are a lot easier to take care of than reefs
I dont know, I am going to get a book at the library tomorrow and do a bit more research but I think the boy would enjoy watching the jelly fish more than regular fish
