I wouldn't pick off the bruised ones - they should grow ok. just wait until they fully develop. Should be ok. Don't know about the ones you dropped in the desicant though - blobs? Why are they blobs?

ive dropped a dryin shroom in some dessicant its looked like salt on ice i ate it anyway. i think to get a full sized adult sick with damp-rid you might need a spoon full or so.

Perhaps I used the wrong terminology when referring to the "blobs"... by blobs, I meant the fungal growths that have no cap (abhorts?).. The PF Tek said to expect this and to pick them off as they develop and that they are "primo in magic alkaloids".

And thank you, now I don't have to throw away the small amount I harvested yesterday.

From what I can gather from your posts, you said that you birthed your 1/2 pint mason jars three days ago, and have already harvested a few "blobs." What is your terrarium like? (3 days from birth to fungi formation is pretty neat I'd say)

I've followed the PF Tek (www.fanaticus.com)almost to the letter... my terrarium is their "rich man's terrarium"... it cost me 60 bucks, but it seems worth it.
