Bartering is surely less convenient, but much more socially and economically efficient.

Also, that's not what you said. You said most people don't have anyone to barter with, which is false, and that's why money was invented.

I trade massage for things. I barter regularly for good homemade organic soap (this woman makes the best patchouli soap I have ever used). Sometimes I barter for cannabis and cannabis goodies. If I vend at festivals I usually go around to all the vendors and propose a trade just to keep the barter system alive. I also trade massages for other massages.

With the connections I have currently for barter I don't LIVE off the barter system, but it helps and it's fun.

you slut.

Haha why do you think I barter for soap? Makes me feel clean after a long hard day of bartering.

Just kidding.

I used to go to a barter fair when I lived in Washington every fall. It was pretty cool. It was kinda like a giant hippie garage sale with camping and drum circles and stuff.

There's a pretty big barter economy to my understanding. Hit up Craigslist for example, people barter commodities through there quite a bit. Friend of mine did that a few times. I hear in terms of dollar value the economy is pretty huge, huge enough for the gov to want to figure out a way to tax it.

I rarely spend money on anything other than food, bus fair , and books for school .Occasionally I buy useless garbage  i dont need. Otherwise I'm usually  cautious on how I spend money. . I prefer to buy most of most of my non electrical stuff 2nd hand , unless its a collectible or something .
I barter when I can considering  I have items  other people want and other people have items I want
Plus I'd rather support a local person by giving them what they want & in return reciving what i want . .And  in the end it prevents us from  having to support a store like Walmart.
