Amateur spore print question
    #19511127 - 02/02/14 01:33 PM (10 years, 11 months ago)

Are there any downsides to taking a print from not-so ideal fruits? Spore printing is just preserving the kind, correct? I have a few caps that are about to open up but they aren't the best performers, just wondering if prints should be reserved for your prize winners or if it doesn't matter at all. Thanks everyone.

It should not make a difference where the spores came from, they are going to create their own genetics regardless.

The fact that they came from a fruit that performed worse than expected means little, this is not strain isolation.

The spores will not be genetically similar to the parent.

I suspected this. Thanks for the re-assurance guys, always a huge help.
