Hows this for a glove box?

I was just Google-ing up some shiz and came across this site:
http://www.banthrax.com/STDome.html
Now I don't plan on spending any $465 on a glove box but off the top of my head I can see:
A big clear Sterilite with a plexiglas window siliconed into the bottom....if the bottom isn't clear enough A fish tank pump rigged for vac or a vac pump I already have Some foam weather stripping. Piano hinge or ?? Plexi or formica or other base] Gloves Some sort of valve (to control flow) and bubbler system, maybe with h2o2?
Total cost.... under $50?
Put your unopened jars/slides whathaveyou under the lid, start the pump to draw a vac, build it up and then crack the valve to bring in controlled airflow via the bubbler.
Now I've never used or made a glovebox before, the oven has always worked but this looks interesting to me. What do you think Mr.Man?

Sounds pretty nice, although perhaps even overkill. I guess if you are doing agar or something more complicated than grains and PF that would come in handy, or maybe super sterile printing. But for anything normal a box with gloves attached to it and a tight fitting lid is fine. I have _heard_ of people not using a glovebox and just following fairly sterile procedure and having like a 95% no-contam success rate.
Buuuuut, more power to you! Projects like these just add to the fun!

Well I figure for cheap, why not make one? My cat wants to do some printing so this should help him have better luck. I mean, he walks in his own toilet....how sterile can his paws be even after washing?

Why thank you, I'll let her know
Hey, if you got the loot, the time, and the patience to put that thing together - go for it, honestly it just sounds like a fun project and it will be useful I'm sure.

get a clear tubberware. Cut two holes, clean you hands or wear gloves. The $5 dollar glovebox. Works like a charm.

get a clear container with a clear lid...saves on the plexiglass shit. Then get some big gloves, and something to attack them from home depot, and some glue or something. under $15 for sure
