Agar with screw top PP5 containers.
    #19507185 - 02/01/14 05:07 PM (10 years, 11 months ago)

Hello friends,

Quick question, I have some Ziploc screw top PP5 containers, and I was wondering what the best way to proceed is.  My main concern is the pressure release, will a slight 1/4" turn be enough?  Should I secure and wrap with foil?

How should I avoid condensation build up?  Pre-pour hot agar then let it cool in open air, then pressure cook, and let cool down in pressure cooker before opening?

I want to do this well so thanks in advance for all suggestions!

Put the lid on and barely  thread it on enough so you can pick up by the lid and it will stay on the container.  Foil wrap won't hurt, some do it some don't.  Prepour let cool then put the top on, pressure cook the let it cool naturally before you remove.  You might get some condensation but they will work.  make sure you use something to keep them from touching the bottom.
