PF Cakes: Max Dunk duration out of fridge??

I'm not sure if I used the search engine to its full potential but I couldn't find the answer to this question. I have a cake that I am dunking currently and I know it should be for 24hours. I was curious as to the approximate max dunk duration out of fridge before damage is done.
I'm not planning on dunking for an extended duration but I am genuinely curious as to the approximate max dunk duration of a cake before it gets damaged outside of the fridge if this is a known number. I have read that cakes kept in the fridge survive for an extended period of time but I couldn't find information for cakes not kept in the fridge while dunked.
Thanks in advance!!

I'm not suggesting that more than 24 hours is beneficial I'm just curious as to the max length a cake can be submerged before it becomes damaged/contaminated outside of the fridge. I'm not suggesting that the fridge is necessary either.

i know your not lol, just saying there's no need to go beyond that. bacteria will build up during the soak time just rinse well afterward but there also being deprived of gas exchange while there submerged,If the cake is submerged in water it is comparable to drowning. No oxygen can be exchanged, anaerobic bacteria (bacteria which do not need oxygen to thrive) build up, and the mycelium is choked to death. but most problems won't happen for 36-48 hours from what i've seen

Fair enough, don't want people getting the wrong idea about dunking. Thank you very much for the specifics, that is exactly the information I was looking for. I've read about people leaving them soaked in the fridge to preserve them and prevent contaminants but wasn't sure about room temperature but I figured longer wasn't a good idea.

Hopefully that works out for you my friend, best of luck.
