I was just curious what you guys all recommend these days for a good, simple bulk growing tek.
Has to be something I could do at my apartment, nothing too crazy but effective.
Any recommendations are much appreciated.

Getting this stuff in Iceland sucks sadly, but I'm going to search high and low for Coir, wild bird seed and even vermiculate lol.
Thanks guys, going to give this a good read.

Yeah, coir and verm is as easy as it gets. And most of us use eco earth by zoomed. Not treated with trich and made from fibers instead of chunks. I know stuff can be hard to find in some areas, trust me i know. But thanks to the invention of the internet ))).
Franks teks are all the best lol. Lots of people follow them including me.
And welcome back sir!

Probably the two biggest changes in the field since you've been out (depending on how long ofcourse) are the discovery that myc likes a circadian light rhythm like humans and also derives energy from light (that part is still being debated but Im of the team that it does ). 6500k light for 12 hrs a day throughout the growth stages (inoculation to fruit. The whole time).
Second is optimum temperatures for myc growth. Stamets said a lot higher than true in his TMC book. He himself along with many other respected men in the field have discovered that cube optimum substrate temp is between 73 and 81 degrees Fahrenheit. Growth significantly drops when outside of this range with a steady decrees in how much as the temp gets further out of range. Meaning the first degrees out of range are the most harmful. I believe what Ive read is as much as a fifty percent decrees in performance in the first five degree differential. The growth performance plateaus between the 73 and 81 and substrate temp can vary from 1 to 5 degrees hotter than ambient room temp depending on what stage the myc is at. With that in mind most growers suggest a ambient temperature of 70-72 degrees as optimal. This doesnt mean you cant grow in sixty degrees. Just means itll be significantly slower. I beleive the knock off points to where you jsut dont wanna try are 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit where the myc stalls out and contaminants have the upper hand.
And lastly as a third thing, I am not sure on this but I think ive done alot of reading from old posts and articles on pasteurization that use to suggest that 180F was sterilization point and now we use 170. So keep it in the 160's lol.
