10m seems more like it, I've watched dust settle in a still room with a sun beam coming through the window, took a few minutes but it's cool to see when the sun is just right the air is still enough after you smoke or something through the curtains. you can actually get a sense of how the air settles it's really quite still after about 3-4 minutes then everything starts to slowly fall.

I never have problems jumping right in after 30-40 seconds.

This is not a big room where dust has small drafts keeping it a float.

This is a small isolated space.....just wait a minute or 2 and start working.

This is my setup here now

One gentleman suggested, aka PussyFart (PF), turning the tub upside down, I think this turns out to be a really good idea (i) it gives a stable working surface (ii) things don't slide around inside the box (iii) it increases the working area because the top of the box is larger than the bottom, and (iv) I'm assuming contaminants will have a harder time getting in from a crack at the bottom rather than the top

I have some new questions now, if anyone would like to follow up on this it would be great

1. Is using a wet towel going to be enough to make contaminants settle on it, don't we need to provide a soapy film for them to stick onto? PF also talked about using bleach on the towel, raising the question on whether we are trying to kill the contaminants or trap them.

2. How important is it to sanitise the room that the work is going to take place in? (I've read some posts about people 'ousting' the room to death before getting started)

3. I'm still using gloves instead of tyvek sleeves, what are your opinions about the better choice? (Are gloves supposed to be bad because of pressure differences sucking in contaminants??)

1. I use a 5-10% bleach soaked towel, and it seems to trap everything that falls on it.(cannot know this for sure, but I have a very high success rate)(It makes sense in theory)

2. Not important. Just clean the immediate area.....no sense in cleaning the ceiling if working in a SAB, but clean air is a good thing.(if that made any sense lol)

3. Cut the gloves off the box and wear them, that way you can move in and out of the box freely to flame sterilize your tools.

We spray the box to more quickly remove the contaminants from the air. Even without a wet surface on the bottom they'd have a hard time becoming airborne after they've settled although leaving it wet is probably beneficial in trapping larger particles like dust which carrying contaminants and become airborne much more easily. It's the surface tension of the water that causes the trapping effect so it doesn't necessarily need to be soapy water.

it's true, but spray with water to knock them dow, so spray and get strait to work

Cavacide/Matacide for the win!  Whip that shit, wait 10 minutes, ?????, Profit!!!!

But for real 99% of the suggestions here will work, except for the guy who doesnt glove up.  Ive never gotten HIV from fucking raw dog but my odds go up each time I do it.  Just like contams in your tubs/cakes.

Thats why I shower, and just before using throughly wash my hands. I flame sterilize my tools I use inside the SAB and those dishes ive done up aswell as the wedge cuttings to transfer, even though ive never done much what I did do never contamd yet. So explain how it "doesnt" work?

And in reality your odds do not go up for getting HIV with the more women you have sex with "raw dog" ,  all you have to do is pick the wrong slut and you got that shit its more of a poor judgment(or poor hygene) issue rather than the percentage and chance. Now you could be right if the women were all hookers off the street... then youre just playing russian roulette, bound to bite the bullet.

I've had good success putting the tyvek sleeves outside the box, rubber bands to the opening and spraying iso on the sleeves. It seems to work for me ATM.

i used those yellow dish gloves not attached and it worked.  when they cracked after a long time, i just used food service gloves, that came up to wrist, still worked well.  slow movements, smart movements, good results.
