Update Outdoor Bed
Been searching around for good outdoor areas, or contemplating just doing them in bonsai pots with a layer of soil on top, we'll see what happens when the time comes.

yeah they will love that spot. remember the more food you give them to start might delay any fruiting. I know people who have laid down azzies many times and just gave them too much food to start, no consolidation or full colonization. which it doesn't really need, but it helps. I think they would very much enjoy that spot if those are indeed wood chips on the ground;

They are, mix of natural and about 5 pounds of alder/beech chips I laid down of for a dog kennel about 10 years ago.

I just digged up a little area, the soil has wood chips everywhere embeded into the soil over the years, VERY nutricious looking & feeling soil, a lot of fresh earth worms and indeed it looks like a great spot. There is even a slight incline which you can see in the picture slightly for drainage.
Has good shading, moisture & lighting.
I am liking the looks of things in this area!

Yeah, I will be spawning to possibly 3 separate beds, definitely staying away from small chips.

Around here everybody calls them Oregon blues, which is where my username came from. Nobody has any idea what im talking about when i call them cyanescens. Latin names are soo much better because they are universal while common names are often regional. It would save a ton of confusion if everybody used the latin names.
-------------------- Favorite quote: I want to know if they are active and magic or not. And if they are not active, can i pick them before they are active and then they will become active or do they have to grow till they activate?

It might rain a lot here, but it is also one of the most beautiful places at the same time. Especially during spring and summer, everything is gorgeous..
Autumn comes and mushroom season is here, I can travel about 30 minutes from where I live and find a lot of actives including liberty caps and an array of wood loving psilocybes
Nothin like hunting and picking your own potents. Just you and the forestry

Update Psilocybe Azurescens - Colonization
Approaching week 3 here from MS inoculation, almost fully colonized.
Have 7 BRF Jars(1/2 pint)
Will be spawning to Alder Chips(avg. 7/8") in 3 totes
Using 2 and 1/3 jars per each tote
1:10 spawn to chips ratio(2 1/3 jars of spawn = ~25 jars of wood chips = ~8 liters of chips)
Mix the spawn and chips thoroughly in the tote, place garbage liner on top w/ clothes pins, 4-8 inch, let colonize 60-70 degrees on average. Will occasionally hydrate if needed
Once colonized start planting to outdoor beds in spring
*Will be doing this with Cyans as well, should have about 5 different beds!
