Fall season has begun in Texas! (with pics!)

Get out there, hunters in Texas !
I have been able to see mushrooms fruiting on cowpies as I drive down the highway. I'm sure they are not all cubes, but it indicates that conditions are favorable for dung-loving mushrooms to bloom. Any pasture where you spot dung-lovers growing on cowpies is worth a hunt, in my experience. You will usually find cubies in the mix.

Location of the specimens was the Piney Woods of East Texas.
I will not say anything more specific than that...

just in case, are you aware that the white mushroom with the non-purple ring that is more robust is not a cube, but in fact and Agaricus, which could be poisonous.

for magmamaniac....
Nope, the lighter colored pair are NOT agaricus. Just mature, perhaps a bit waterlogged Ps. cubensis.
One thing I've learned from several years of hunting experience is that Ps. cubensis have a lot of different "looks", but they are distinctly different from the other types of fungi in the pasture. Perhaps the pics didn't do them justice... please look at the photo album again.

Wait a day or 2 after it rains. Then go and check. Im in central arkansas and have already found some.
They were pretty small, but it is a sign that they are comming back!

the last 2-3 weeks were fairly bad for P. cubensis and Cop. cyans. i went hunting twice and i must have visited about 6 fields and i only came up with 1 cop cyan and another one eaten out by maggots.
here is what i came up with 3 weeks ago, after that ive found nothing:
good luck you all, im not bound to go out hunting here in central florida until the winter rainy season starts until at least november when more of all mushrooms start popping up.
buen suerte.
