That picture is of Jack Churchill in a training exercise, you liar. That's probably why the link has the words "training charge" in it. He was a fucking big shot maniac mentalist, though.
HISTORY FACT:
Gandhi didn't win Indian Independence peacefully, it was handed back for full cooperation during the Second World War and over a million Indians volunteered to fight for the British.

I know I'm late to the party, and this kind of suggestion is kind of stupid at this point but, this would be nice.

Christmas: Plus Kwanzaa bonus fact!

All around the world for many centuries the middle of Winter has been celebrated by a long list of different cultures. The middle of Winter, particularly the Winter Solstice marks longer hours of sunlight, and the worst of Winter having already passed. As is the case with the majority of Christian Holidays, Christmas was first celebrated very differently by "pagans" before Christianity was invented. Keep in mind the word "pagan" is just a catch all turn used by Christians that basically just means anything that is non-Christian.
...
Although, if you were to do this, every post from here on out would have to be edited, which sucks.

It will be reopened at a later point. I still have months worth of content, and good suggestion Idiot, I'll totally implement that.
But ya, I'll restart this up again some time when I'm not so fucking busy. Most posts take be about an hour to craft because I write it all from scratch and get distracted really easily.

That's most likely it. But to be honest I don't even know how I would go about unhiding it from myself. Which makes me wonder how I hid it in the first place. Oh well at least you guys can see it.

Day 43:
The History of Labor Day:
Labor day occurs annually on the first Monday of September, as a day to play tribute to the hard work of the American labor force. Labor day is usually celebrated with events such as picnics, fireworks, parades, and large concerts or gatherings. For many people Labor day also symbolizes the ending of summer, and the start of the school season.

Labor day is a holiday greatly anticipated by many modern day American laborers due to its promise of a day off work; but labor day has is roots as far back as the Industrial Revolution.
The Industrial Revolution was at the peak in America during the late 1800's and the living situation for the avenge working American was dire to say the least. Working condition and fair pay laws had yet to be established in the United States forcing workers to endure 14 hour days for 7 days a week just to make enough wage to get by. But this almost always wasn't enough leaving many families with no other option but to send their children to work mill, mine, and factory jobs as early as 5 years old.
If you want to do any further reading on the time period, (which I personally find fascinating) I would suggest reading the books “Maggie: A Girl of the Streets” by Stephen Crane, or “The Jungle” by Upton Sinclair.
Speaking of Upton.
As a response to these unfair working conditions many riots started to sprout up in major industrial centers all across America, most specifically Chicago. On September 5th 1882 over 10,000 workers marched from city hall to union square in New York City, funny enough this is considered by most to be the first Labor Day parade. But conditions continued to worsen and the riots began to turn violent. During the Haymarket Riot of 1886 in Chicago both police men as well as rioters we killed.

In 1894 the American Railroad Union boycotted all rail-cars made by the Pullman Company, a company known for cutting wages and firing union representatives. This boycott resulted in the nationwide crippling of the railway systems in the United States. As an attempt to break the strike the Federal Government of the United States sent out troops to Chicago. But this only set forth a wave of deadly riots which totaled in the deaths of over a dozen American laborers. Realizing that sending in troops was a terrible idea, congress passed an act making Labor Day a national holiday. How the declaring of an annual holiday was able to quell deadly riots is beyond me, but hey, I'll take the day off.
