Moisture in jars
    #19497842 - 01/30/14 06:02 PM (10 years, 11 months ago)

A newbie here. Growing with the instruction from the pf tek guide.
I have knocked up 12 jars, they are 9 days old now.
All of the jars are doing good however, i have noticed some moisture building on the side of the jars against the mycelium.
Is this ok? I just do not want it to create any kind of bacteria. I hae left the inculation holes uncovered for the cakes to breath.

ok cool, They have been left out in the open, but the temp does fluctuate, between 76 and 80 degrees, in my grow room.

those temps should be fine, so your average temp is 78 degrees in your room then (between 76 and 80). The glass usually helps to insulate between minor fluctuations in temp, such as the ones you experience over minor spans of time, giving you a mean average temp in the jar compared to actual room temperature. Your jars will be happy!

:whathesaid:

The jars should be at 100% colonized as it is one of the major pinning triggers.

No no no no... Lol he's talking about the jars "sweating" inside, from humidity and temps, what I was trying to get across, is that the jars will "sweat" and bead up more water droplets inside, the closer they get to 100 percent colonization. I wasn't suggesting "to take them out before 100 percent" hahaa  that's not what I was trying to say AT ALL hahahaha ... Go on cronicr, I'm awaiting another post editing from you lmao

lol whoops.  Yeah they will sweat and have a puddle of water in the jars as the substrate or cakes shrink.  It's no big deal.
