cobweb or mycelium on drying shrooms?
    #19495872 - 01/30/14 10:51 AM (10 years, 11 months ago)

There was a flush I recently harvested that I didn't get to at the right time. The veil had already broken and some fruits released some spores. They have been drying out on/in a stack of plates with paper towels and rice as a desiccant. I noticed fuzzy growth on a lot of the fruits today. I am wondering if it is cobweb or mycelium? It's on caps and stems. Can't tell if it's white or gray. Should I toss them?

That's mold....toss them.

Next time fan dry for 24-48 hours before using desiccant.

Only use desiccant to get the final 10-15% of moisture left in them.

Only use the desiccant in a sealed container.
