Fat dumb people, disabled, crazy, lazy people don't deserve high paying jobs right? They deserve poverty wages and shitty violent neiborhoods.
As a species we should allocate the best living standards to the smart and beautiful. And if a rich good ole boy has a lot of cash but is dumb and ugly...let's strip it from him and put him in the ghetto.
Or....is life more than just letting the reality mechanism allow evolution to play out and it doesn't matter who wins or loses?

What I'm getting at...is that we have to take hold of where we think we ought to head as a society...but not be too bold to think we are always going to be right and know we will fail and need to improvise.

Depends on what you mean by deserve? We get what we are able to get. Ayn Rand was not a great beauty but made it big.

To start with, beauty? Beauty is common. Because two ape things got horny and popped out some symmetrical person that is pleasing to the eye, that person is automatically entitled to wealth and privilege they didn't earn themselves? Get the fuck out of here, lol.
For every one person like that, there are thousands out there ready to flense them with blades, string them up in a tree and take their resources.
Being beautiful doesn't make anyone more or less mortal and I'd wager that its pure delusion to believe it does. They too are blood pumping, fecal waste exuding sacks of rotting flesh.
As far as the most intelligent among us 'deserving' better living, if they truly are the most intelligent, they will likely end up living comfortably by their own standards any how.
I don't think I'd be missing the mark if I said that most humans believe they deserve the best.

This whole game of dancing with mental abstractions like 'deserving' leads ultimately nowhere but conflict. To base resource distribution on someone's beliefs on who deserves what is just asking for intense unrest.
-------------------- To be human is to be fettered, to endure what one is, in perpetuum, no matter what the debility or perversity.
