To me it looks like you were too quick on letting it start growing fruitbodies. If you had let it sit for awhile before letting it fruit, that white mycelium would have covered the surface.

The mycelium is building up under your polyfil because it wasn't fully colonized when it started fruiting and the area under the polyfil is getting the best FAE so the mycelium is thriving in those spots. This is all IMO, but it makes the most sense I believe... Good luck though! I would go for a second flush just to see what happens! Unless you really need the tub

There's no way it contamed exactly under each one of the holes 6 out of 6 times. I think VYBE is right on with this one. If those white spots were a contam, wouldn't it be in random spots all over the the tub?

i agree birthed too early, as far as going green i dunno (sure does look iffy tho). the fact that it was exposed to air before 100% is not a good thing, both for ur pin set (myc wasn't done "eating" and hence not rdy to fruit when conditions were switched) and for contamination (uncolonized substrate is contam vector).

Glad I saw this thread, I have some tubs that did the same thing, I didn't notice any funny odors or the nasty green, so I'm just letting them do their thing. Recently, I was very busy while trying to get some monos ready and didn't use a liner, I noticed some of the tubs were 100% on top, but not fully colonized on the sides & bottom. Maybe this could be a good argument for letting tubs consolidate a few extra days after they're 100% on top.

It is from your air outside of the chamber being to dry.. try getting a humidifier and put it in the room your monos in. that will get rid of that problem..

Can you elaborate on this a bit? Never heard of our seen this before. I would've tossed the tub in OP at the first sign of that bright white stuff. It looks like unsporulated trich to me.

If it's trich then why did it only take hold under the air exchange holes?
