Should work, stop misting once you get pins. I've not been in a grow room that wasn't upper 80's watch your temps.

Aborts are not such a bad thing. Those little fuckers kick you in both nuts.

When your tub starts fruiting it pretty much keeps itself at the right humidity, given your tub is setup right. When I got a nice harvest coming in the walls will be covered in condensation, without me misting at all, just occurring naturally.
My whole grow room is pretty dry. usually about 30% relative. My tubs do fine. My shotguns might require a little extra maintenance but not a big deal. I also like to use bubble wrap periodically to help keep the micro-climate consistent, I think it seems to help pin set.

I'm in Arizona, can't get much drier then that. Bubble wrap is a nice addition to a mono to induce mad pinning, it's what I do for all my tubs.

I thought that was the reason...
That doesn't seem to be the case for me.
I've always misted.
Even when I flush a tub, most pins seem to keep growing. Lately I've just been soaking the surface of the substrate after harvesting with a spray bottle, instead of doing a full flush with running water.
and with the MS i've been using, I don't usually harvest all of them in one go, just the ones that are about to mature. Then I mist everything a bunch and let them keep going.
And that's good to know about the dry climates working out and all. You both use bubble wrap to make a 'micro-climate'? I might as well give it a proper casing layer. I'll try some with a peat/verm casing if I think its getting dry easily.

I think you'll find you don't need it. But if you do need the casing layer, check out Roger Rabbit video on Casing layer, pretty legit.

AK is pretty damn dry, but I was in Arizona this last summer so I know its dry there too. Yall got fucking misters for the sidewalks! that shit was nice to walk through; we hit you guys during some kind of 115 degree heat wave or something.

Yeah My friend actually does the same, and I've read about a few others doing it too; where you just mist heavily instead of dunking. I think dunking is the most PITA part of cultivating and just heavily misting seems to do the trick. for the first couple flushes at least.
As long as your pins aren't aborting, you must not be overmisting. so if your pins are maturing your good. if you need more pins work on the microclimate with casing, BW, Wax paper w/e. I like BW cuz I can take it off and put it back whenever I want. A casing is a commitment lol, and more work, especially with pasteurizing and all.

I've done casing layers before. I won't mind casing some tubs later if it looks like they can easily dry out on the surface. we'll see if its too dry though.

They'll do fine in there, especially if you're running metal halide lamps.
You'll just have to learn to read the substrate and mist as necessary. You could fruit the whole time with the lid off if you misted enough.
Misting doesn't cause pins to abort. Misting and then closing up a sealed tub will cause pins to suffocate and abort. This is why we fan after misting, or leave the lid loose for awhile, etc., to allow the standing moisture on the fruits to either be absorbed into the mushrooms or evaporated off them. RR
