Not your average air pump question
    #19485785 - 01/28/14 11:30 AM (10 years, 11 months ago)

Good morning, everyone!

The question that I have for everyone, is slightly different than the questions I was finding on this subject while searching the forums this morning.

I have had great success, with a SGFC tucked away inside of another, much larger container. I have the SGFC elevated about 2", and it worked quite well with a good amount of manual FAE via fanning 3-5 times a day during my last run.

My question, now that it's been properly prefaced, is would adding an air pump (which would pump air from the outside of both of my enclosures) provide sufficient FAE for fruiting? I understand I'd have to tweak it with a timer, so as to not dry out the contents of the SGFC.

If so, would it be best to keep it (the air stone piece tubed in, not the pump itself) INSIDE the SGFC? I was thinking, if it is pumping air to an air stone buried in the perlite, that it might serve as both FAE and a good vehicle from which to disperse water into the air (provided that when misting, I spray the spot which it's buried in the SGFC exclusively). Or, would it (the air stone) be best to keep it outside of the SGFC, but still inside of the container which houses my SGFC to allow the SGFC to act as if it were in the open air?

I have searched around in regards to my specific situation, and have found minimal information in direct relation to my question. If it has been answered elsewhere, please direct me there without abusing me, if possible.

Thanks!

I will not argue the wise words of RR. Thank you for finding that quote for me. Can I be so bold as to ask which post that was on?

How many Jenkins(z) does it take to grow mushrooms? :crazy2:

Gold mine.

That actually answered another question for me as well, so thank you, PussyFart!
