that aint bruising. Next time make the substrate(not casing if the internet people called it casing then run run run far away) yourself. In the time it took sitting in some warehouse to ship to your house to the time you used it it's garbage. Pasteurize your own substrate the day before you spawn. and when spawning you don't need to use any special precautions about being clean you're going to be mixing 100000s of natural contaminant spores into your substrate no matter how clean or how much lysol you use. You can spawn while taking a shit and picking your nose.

you got screwed buying premade shit :mad2:
we pasteurize to give the substrate a window of time for the spawn to colonize. That window is probably already gone and done with by the time the sent it to you and you used it.

it won't contam the next door project automatically but it's a bad idea to leave it around.

I'll take a look at it closer when I get home from work.

Is it possible to reuse the tub after I throw out the substrate? If so, do I just give it a thorough cleaning with rubbing alcohol?

Wow thanks a ton for the feed back. This is my first time growing tubs and it's a learning process to say the least. It's nice to have a place to come and get advice from people who have experience.  :bow2:  :fuckyeahdance:

I came home and double checked the bottom of the tub and there wasn't a green spot. When I took the picture I used the auto enhance to brighten it up and it made it look green.

Just be sure to harvest those bottom pins when you harvest the rest. If you leave them to rot they become a major contam vector.

I am curious as when I should know the tub has stopped producing fruits to pick the bottom of the substrate. The bottom has a ton of fruits and the top is still producing pins. My concern is some of the bottom fruits have some white fuzzy stuff on the base of the stems.

The white fuzzy stuff on your stems isn't anything to be scared of. Just a symptom of not getting enough FAE, which wouldn't surprise you being at the bottom of the tub.

What signs should I look for to know when to pick the bottom of the substrate? Is it as simple as the substrate not producing pins on the top layer?
