CIA reports that report will report nothing

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=st...iraq_usa_wmd_dc
I found this paragraph interesting:
The expected finding in a report by David Kay, who served as a U.N. nuclear inspector in Iraq in 1991, would be a blow to President Bush (news - web sites) who, before ordering the invasion of Iraq last March, argued Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s weapons of mass destruction posed an imminent threat that justified war.
most notably the final sentence....it seems even Reuters news service felt that the administration's argument was that Iraq's WMD posed an imminent threat....but we won't rehash all that.
equally interesting...
The report "generally will be about chemical and biological weapons and I think he's going to find evidence, documentary evidence, statements by Iraqi scientists and technicians, that they had chemical and biological weapons production programs," the senior U.S. official said.
what's interesting about this is that they seem to be getting us used to the fact that while they may not find the smoking gun, so to speak, they'll have enough statements from underlings to cover their asses. though, it's worth noting that the article mentions earlier on that these scientists and technicians have been granted immunity (and god knows what else) for their *cooperation*.

I wonder how this will affect the right-wingers on the board who spent months making dozens of posts about the "hundreds of tons of VX gas" and other such utter bullshit. Will they finally realise their belief systems are based on horseshit, or simply shrug it off? I know if i'd swallowed that bullshit I'd be asking myself some serious fucking questions about my belief system.
Not even "minute" quantities have been found...
No weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq by the group looking for them, according to a Bush administration source who has spoken to the BBC.
This will be the conclusion of the Iraq Survey Group's interim report, the source told the presenter of BBC television's Daily Politics show, Andrew Neil.
Downing Street branded the story "speculation about an unfinished draft of an interim report".
Mr Neil said the draft report - which the source said is due to be published next month - concludes that it is highly unlikely that weapons of mass destruction were shipped out of the country to places like Syria before the US-led war on Iraq.
The bottom line is that the team has found no weapons of mass destruction
It will also say that Saddam Hussein mounted a huge programme to deceive and hinder the work of United Nations weapons inspectors, he said.
Mr Neil said that according to the source, the report will say its inspectors have not even unearthed "minute amounts of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons material".
They have also not uncovered any laboratories involved in deploying weapons of mass destruction and no delivery systems for the weapons.

given the human rights abuses of the ba'ath regime, i think you will find many who, even in the absence of WMD's, still believe the war was just. there are many who haven't "swallowed that bullshit", but still feel differently than you do, based on a different set of values. imagine that.

And the dozens and dozens of posts about "Do you have to be dying of VX gas before you see Saddam as a threat" and "the tons and tons of VX and mustard gas.."? And "Saddam poses a threat from his WMD"?
All that nonsense is just shrugged off? No-one asks themselves "How could I be so wrong and yet think I was so right?"

Yes. Let's see them. While there were a few who seemed to think that, an honest reading will IMO show most here stated they didn't know. More stated it was Saddams responsibility to show they didn't exist or had been destroyed.

You claimed there were "dozens and dozens". You made the claim. Back it up.
I think we all know you won't.

I'm going to spend my time finding dozens of posts by right-wingers spouting bullshit?
er..yep, you guessed right, I won't. Why don't you do a search and prove me wrong if you're so convinced no right-wingers thought he had WMD?

Golly.... perhaps because I wasn't the one foolish enough to make a claim I have no hope of backing up?
And let's do a simple one.... show me where in this thread I said NO right wingers said that.
The key word here is no Alpo.

I'm claiming that yet again your penchant for exaggeration has you making a claim you have no hope of backing up.

Good research there mush, you'll go far.
Did it ever cross your mind to search on VX gas? Mustard gas? WMD?
Just a hint. See what comes up.

hehe.. that was half in jest...
i'm sure that there have been comments made supporting the war against iraq on account of its weapons program....
just because there's no weapons program doesn't mean that humanitarian reasons are less valid.

Best not. Reuters is unabashedly biased. As a matter of fact, they outbias even NPR and the BBC. Accepting what Reuters "feels" is arguably more dangerous than accepting what Michael Moore feels.
It will be interesting to see what the report actually says. We'll all have the opportunity to read it for ourselves soon enough.

given the human rights abuses of the bush regime......so the usa is getting set to invade itself? even 'human rights abuses' was another crock, as if the bush gang gives a fuck. checkout the civilian death tolls for iraq and afghanistan. lots of that joyous friendly fire going down. which large nation incarcerates political prisoners without trial or hope of release? ( all of them) why dont they just say - 'we want that oil'?

Do you have a link to some report on that statement from some place like Fair media and accuracy or what not? Or, is that just your personal opinion?
