I would at least let the dark brown spots fill in but like cronic said it may not become thick white particularly if you used a top layer of sub when mixing in your spawn.

I just ever so lightly frosted. the top with 50/50 i just didnt want any myc exposed. Its weird tho because the very next day agter mixing there was a white fuzz on top. And btw. I want to thank both of you guys. For always responding to my posts and helping me along. Iam getting ready to start monotubs. Exactly like frank is doing his using wbs/ coir/verm pinch of gypsum no casing. What do you think. I like the simplicit . Of the monotub. ????

Mmmm bacon. I have been reading reading reading and reading. Correct me if iam wrong monotub is the simplest of all teks. As far as maintenance. Set it and forget it kinda. Not like hovering over a sgfc. Misting fanning. Ugggh that sucked.

I wish i had started with wbs. And momotubs. I would try for hours to tweak. Rh fa and wait for one lil pin to pop. It was a good experience but imho i think monos should be taught as a beggining and if you fail then pf tek.if all else fails.

I agree completely. Iv never made a BRF cake. I started with trays in a GH and tried tubs later. In the future I will likely do most of my bulk grows in mono or dub tubs.

So i noticed that you registered about the same time i did. Had you been growing prior to that? I started growing just after thanksgiving. And i still have a brf jar thats 99% colonized. Just got 1 pin yesterday.still in the jar. So let me see here its been in the jar for almost 2 months that thing is gonna hopefully fruit amazing big shrooms. All the other jars i started at the same time. Are done and gone and i can say thank god. Whats your favorite strain. And technique?

Which strain is it?
I put my ATL#7 in the fruiting chamber when the casing looked pretty much like yours. this was a week ago, and they started pinning the day before yesterday.

I started growing a few months before I registered but I started doing research long before that. Iv only done bulk grows using cubes so for now that's my favorite. When you say strain I'm assuming you are referring to the vendors variety names. Iv only used B+ and GT, both gave me good yields and insane potency so I don't have a favorite. Its going to be a long time until I can grow again but when I do I plan on trying out a few different species.

Wow thats cool man alt 7 i likeeeee. Well no agar yet. But i can tell you this i am going to try. After much reading. Mainly franks journal and many threads iam now pretty confident i can do it. I have OCD. So my pad is pretty sterile and I had 1 contam so far. My fault. After reading much its obvious that agar is superior. Not only for noccing. But isolation and so on. i have to say. I was really nervous because everyother post i read made it sound like you had to have a lab. But now i know better.

My first grow, I was paranoid as fuck cause everybody said you needed a lab-type room... I made 5 1/2pint jars in a glovebox and only one got contaminated (green).. I succeded in making a half a litre of LC so now im pretty much trying everything..
