1/2 gal jars as master spawn jar worth the time?

Was mulling over a few things and was wondering if scooping up some 1/2 gal jars would end up working better for me then doing things the way I have been.
Currently I've just prepped my quart jars and used agar wedges to inoculate them with which works perfectly fine however it does seem to be quite the slow process from inoc to 100%. This is fine however if in times I needed things to move a bit faster I was wondering if just making up like 2 1/2 gal jars and inoculating them with multiple wedges so they would colonize much faster then just G2G that into my quarts would prove to be a faster alternative.
My only questions here would be... From your experience would this end up probably taking just as long as my current method? And should I increase PC time from 90 min to like 120 min if using these larger jars or would 90 min be sufficient enough to properly sterilize that amount of grains?

No experience with wedges, but the name of the game is surface area here. To speed up the process, I would do the 1/2 gal jars w/ a bunch of wedges if possible... or g2g with more grain spawn than usual. Just my opinion and how i see it in my head

You're really not going to save much time by using multiple wedges. Just drop in a wedge, don't shake it at first or the mycelium may have to recover and it won't do any good in spreading it around, give it a few days so the mycelium can establish itself on some of the grains and then give it a good shake and you'll have your multiple inoculation points.
