bacteria beneficial to bulk substrates
    #19478908 - 01/26/14 09:02 PM (10 years, 11 months ago)

hey yall so i was reading the mushroom cultivator today and found a very interesting part of the book i had previously missed before.

its "appendix III Effects of Bacteria on fruiting" it starts at page 353.

it mentions 4 different types of bacteria that seem to enhance fruiting for some types of mushrooms. anyone have any experience inoculating their cube substrates with
these bacteria

Psudomonas putida
Bacillus megaterium
Arthrobacter terregans
Rhizo meliloti

im sure i can buy these highly concentrated in talc powder. my root pack from OGbiowar for my MMJ actually has Bacillus megaterium in it at 5 billion spores per gram. ill find sources and post back

The bacterial flora associated with mushroom species always seem to be present wherever the mushrooms are growing, even if they weren't before.

Facinating read.

Might explain why substrates with poo perform better overall.

Thanks for sharing.

If you do a study of what bacteria and fungi are left over after pasturization of hpoo or wormpoo let me know.
