It could take 2+ weeks for the spores to germinate and show growth.

Anywhere from a couple days to a little over a month. Atleast that's the quickest and longest I've personally had jars take. In other words there's no straight forward answer really. You might not even get growth on all of them

I inoculated mine and put them away and looked at them four days later and saw growth, but you should see signs from an ms syringe in under two weeks if im correct

Less than a week is average. But like they say it can vary a lot.

Make an LC! About 15 bucks worth of supplies, and if you can pull it off without contams, you move your colonization times from 2 to 3 weeks to 2 to 3 days! First LC's I made went no problem, just be very sterile!

Spore prints/syringes are rarely 100% contam free as the cap from which they came was most likely fruited in open air, and LCs are the perfect breeding ground for everything not fungi......
You would still have to wait for the spores to germinate on the LC, wait for it to colonize, and then shoot up test jars and wait for them to colonize.
You will have wasted a bunch of time, even if successful......just inoculate with spores and skip LC.
The best way to make an LC is from a clean agar wedge....not spores, spawn, or tissue.

The key word is IF though. Not saying they don't have their advantages or that it isn't possible. Just saying that if it doesn't pan out then you're back at square one which can be quite discouraging for people just starting out. Also LC from spores is a bit more sketchy than LC from a live culture on agar.

Haha cronicr, I wonder how many posts you have done that to of mine haha. It's all good, seriously matt1208 if cronicr gives advice, let alone change your posts for you, there's gold there. Him and his write ups are a big part of my learning experience. Good guy though! So I suppose agar it is I still love my LC tho!

i like my lc too i just do it right and don't see any need for it with cubes, even with fast colonization you should bump your consolidation time up to compinsate for best performance

Why not? If you're getting into the art of cultivation, sterile technique should already be in your practice as well a clean work-space or glove box.
I'd recommend any of the following for a first timer; - Spore Syringe (Because they'll probably already have one) - Spore Scraping (Very easy, but it's open air) - Grain transfer (Very eary, but once again open air)
Agar is a great method but try it after you've cultivated a few times and got a feel for your operation.

Why not?
Because LCs are just a waste of time.

Too early to worry. I've had a jar take a little over a month to show growth one time.

Check your syringe for black clumps, if you see none you probably got a weak syringe or nothing at all special in it. :X
But like the other guy suggested, they can take time so be patient, maybe look over your tek to see what went wrong?

I doubt he got a syringe with nothing at all in it. That would almost be funny though. A company shipping syringes full of just water.
