Having trouble recording my turntables onto a computer
    #1946685 - 09/24/03 02:59 AM (13 years, 2 months ago)

I wanted to record myself scratching so I hooked the output of the amp into the line in on my computer, using one of those headphone jack-to-AV cable deals. Anyways, I am using soundforge 6.0to record and audio comes out of my speakers however I can't record it! I have tried a few different programs, I even tried using the windows sound recorder. It is so weird because the tables are inputing, but I can't record them.

Funny you should mention this. I was doing this earlier today. However I was able to record using sound recorder but I was unable to hear what I was recording. I don't care about that part though. What I do care about is sound recorder only records 60 seconds at a time....anyone know of any freeware sound recorders which record longer?

Think I know what your problem is.
Try this:
call up your control panel and click on sounds and audio devices.
on the device volume box click on advanced
in the sliders thing, click options, and then properties.
click on recording, then OK, and u should go back to the recording mixer.
Check which source is chosen for recording (has a tic in the box), make sure it's the input you are using inside soundforge.
((I don't use soundforge, but u can probably select the input device within it too))
