Why are these little baby pins trying to open on me!!
    #19466002 - 01/24/14 03:25 AM (10 years, 11 months ago)

This is the start of the 2nd flush on these cakes, and I was pleased with the first flush, let them soak over night again, and now they are starting out and popping caps already! What am I doing wrong that would lead to this? Nothing has really changed since the first flush, so I am confused.

Most likely from too much moisture in substrate or air

i'd imagine because gravity has drawn most of your moisture toward the bottom of your cake
