New to shroomery

I thought I would share what I've been learning from this site. Thanks for all the useful information everyone! Criticism and advice are more than welcome, and I would love some insight.
I am a former PF Tek cultivator, and moved onto my first monotub. I used rye bitches rye, damions 50/50, as well as other info from here.
Here are the paramaters of my grow:
66Qt monotub, using 1.5" holes.

5 Qt Amazonian spawned to 1 brick coir, 2 Qt verm (fine), and a little gypsum. -The jars stalled out and were not colonizing anymore, so i just spawned the fuckers.

The consolidation was crazy fast, i had 100% by about 6 days and left it for another 5 days or so,then removed the tape and stuffed poly accordingly.

I want to apologize in advance if I am posting this wrong, or wasting anyones time.

Just make sure not to have the tub touching a wall that will mess with GE, you are kinda blocking the two poly holes that are on the wall side.
I would use franks simple coir tek in the future.
Besides that pretty damn good first mono. I have been letting mine drop to 71 degrees at night with lights off, and raise it to 79 during the day cycle when lights are on this has been making for some amazingly fast fruiting

Looks good. No you're not posting wrong or wasting anybody's time. You're not forcing anybody to read this.
Kinda hard to tell from the pics. What's your hole configuration? just the 4 holes at sub level tightly packed with polyfill?

That's a hygrometer. OP, those things work better if you take a sharpie and color the glass so it's completely black. Sweet-looking tub, though, and I look forward to seeing more pictures (as does just about everyone around here)!

When it comes time to fruiting, which seems might be right away, you may end up wanting to take the tape off the extra two holes.

You were being crafty, and the mod looks great! Unfortunately those things are almost always inaccurate, and there are better ways of telling if your tub is dialed in. I have a fondness for cheap, modded equipment, though, and if hygrometers were generally worth a shit I would steal that idea immediately.
Edit: I might steal it anyway, because I do like the thermometer on that thing.

Ya, on a tub that size most would have 4 holes at sub level and 2-4 holes at the top. Top ones only lossely filled with polyfill. So your setup will probably work perfectly.

Yeah metabolites are just enzymes secreted by your sub to help break it down. Sometimes it can mean bacterial contams, but the closer I look, it just looks like pins.. So I think you're looking good man

Lol yea, If you notice a section drying out faster than another maybe move it away from the wall or turn it back the long wise. Different set up, different needs.
Maybe move the heater outside the door, but if it ain't broke don't fix it. What I mean is if that works then nvm.
Edit: I just feel that the side by the wall is gonna be dry and the side by the heater will be hot and humid or vise versa but idk till I see it in action for some time.

Correct heater, wrong spot. Don't put that close to your tub. Leave it outside the closet.
Also, is that your fan in the upper left? That might be awfully close to the mono. Keep an eye on things, mist if the surface looks dry.

Further away, door open. Don't oscillate the fan, just find a position where it gives a nice draft around the tub. Never point it at the tub directly.
I was referring to the middle left, turns out that is your bucket. Looked like an upright fan or humidifier unit on my phone

If this is MS, and I suspect it is, it'll be difficult to separate the early stages into distinct flushes like you see with isolate grows. Expect to see more of a first-second flush, which will need more continual harvesting if you want to get them all at the perfect moment rather than just clear-cutting them. So yes, those knots will likely form pins as well.
If you do wish to make the jump to agar and cloning, that fat pin in the middle might be a good candidate.

That's just your first flush on that mono as well. Dunk that sub and then put it back into fruiting and get a couple more flushes.

i soaked it for about 3 hours, and flipped it upside down. The bottom was covered w/ beautiful mycelium. Do you think I should flip it back over?

I'd dunk it for a few more hours yet.

I've always noticed that the bottom of the sub has pretty white mycelium, and have tried fruiting it, but the top side still wants to flush, so I end up re flipping it. I guess if I let it sit and do it's thing it would eventually fruit. I rarely allow second flushes anymore. Got a assembly line of grains and tubs waiting their turn. So it's better to toss and resuse the tub. Sea of Green....nahhh Sea of boomers!

Like the sig pic. I see you pick your boomers at an early stage. I don't like letting the veils tear if I can help it. I like em short, fat and thick. Those are the ones that make me claw at the walls.

What the hell is going on here, boys and girls?
This is the bottom of the first flush, I flipped and its been a couple days. Is this the 2nd flush? Or are these from the 1st flush? If from 1st, should I harvest and flip again?

You shouldn't flip your substrate over.
Those exposed grains are at risk for contam and the white stuff you see if most likely mycelium recovering from when you tore it up while flipping the poor thing.

it was perfectly fine when I flipped it, I did not damage it at all. Now there are big shrooms busting thru the surface, growing from the middle of the sub

And the reason for flipping it is because?
I'll pre-emptively let you know that you'll get better flushes, less recovery time, and less contaminants if you don't do that.
No one who has a few bulk grows under their belt will flip their substrate. Colonized bulk is more fragile than a colonized BRF cake.
The mycelial network works together, there is no need to provide a "fresh" surface for fruiting to occur on, you are only damaging it when you move it around.

Don't flip it, and use a liner

I did use a liner, and I flipped it because huge shrooms were tearing the sub up. I flipped it so they could grow. This has all been said before... What Im asking is how to prevent the shrooms from growing sub-surface.

Aluminum foil duct tape around the area that a liner would normally block light.

Threaten your sub with push ups like RR does.
