Caller ID in restaurants? Tried calling busted dealer @ work
    #1945824 - 09/23/03 09:38 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

I wasn't even engaged in buisiness with him, but I tried calling a friend (who's a small-time dealer) where he used to work.

I called a restaurant where he's a waiter and asked for Nick (name changed).

The receptionist told me he had personal problems and was out & wanted me to leave a message.

I didn't say anything for a minute (I'm high & paranoid) and she says that when he get's back from the police station he'll call me. She asks who's calling, a little too eager to know.

I say thanks but I say I'll call back later, bye, and quickly hang up.

Now I'm fried and scared as hell. Could they get a warrant just because I called him? Surely not I would hope, but I'm still freaking out.

And do most restaurants have caller ID anyway?

I know I'm paranoid, but if they had caller ID, it would be easy link it to me. Then the question is how much would they follow through a lead like that.

They can't raid you for a phone call...Don't worry. But sometimes being paranoid is good. keeps you more mentally aware

Being paranoid sucks. The thing I hate most is someone knocking on my door. I can't fucking stand it. If I'm high, and someone knocks, I immediately assume there's ten cops outside my door with 2 dogs, all armed with rifles (yes, even the dogs!). It sucks. That's why I tell my friends to call me when they're pulling up so I know it's them.

There are levels of paranoia, you can obviously go too far but if you insist on doing drugs or whatever it would be wise to think with a paranoid viewpoint most of the time because paranoid people don't often make mistakes pertaining to not being careful.

I saw an ad for NORML once that said something like....

A marijuana user is arrested once every ten minutes in this country....
and you wondered why we're paranoid!

I hate beeing overly anxious, but I guess it does make you more careful about stuff.

lol, he was a pretty unorganized guy. He just liked to deal whatever he could find and look like a badass. And the stupid idiot got a job at a christian owned & run restuarant and started selling to some of the other waiters there.

It was obivous he was asking for trouble, but he wouldn't have listened to anybody that warned him anyway.
