I am going to cold shock and then birth one of my casing tommorow, wednesday. I will fan twice that day, and then three to 6 times every succeeding day. However, I will only be able to fan once on friday. How much of a detremental effect will this have on my casing?

I would rig up a fan as I have everything to do so but right now my whole setup is in a cabinet and I cant get power to it....yet.

Fanning (IMO) is not as important as people make it out to be... If you have a completely sealed container and the mushies are growing already, I could see this as an issue.  But otherwise, fanning once on some particular day is not going to make or break your project.  What this guy does that I know when he has to leave (he's left for up to 3 days, no fanning, no substantial aborts or anything out of ordinary occuring) is he puts all his casings into a fairly large container that has small holes melted along the bottom, say every 10 inches a 1/4 inch wide hole.  Never had problems with contam due to this, and never had major fanning issues.  The more this guy learns about this stuff, the more he is convinced that they are not as delicate as people make them out to be

All of my posts are for discussion purposes only. All posts concerning cultivation of mushrooms refer to legal gourmet mushrooms only. Yes, I support monkey-human relationships.
