fear of leaving is scarier than the pain that's feeling

depressing repititions, as much as we despise them in our more inspirational moments, are still comforting. they provide a sense of security. a sense of identity. a sense of reality.
just letting the dirty wound sit is easier than the rubbing alcohol. the advantage to external damage is you understand that it is infected and needs healing. not so lucky with the internal.
whatever IT is... it feels good (frightening but good) to slowly walk away from it, into the unknown

Often times refreshing if you run and jump from it. The inertia of habit is not a wound, it's a disease...

it spreads over you and all over your walls and personal belongings. it contaminates everything you see with your eyes. it penetrates your brain and makes you feel like you are waging wars with yourself. the masked assailant stalks every thought. there's a shadow just behind me, shrouding every step i take. making every promise empty, pointing every finger at me.

I laugh enough as it is because lots of things are funny, or can be distorted to the point of being hilarious.

You just need to chill out, man, the only way to escape thoughts is to stop thinking them...
Peace.

But without it...how do I know when I'm right?

Intuition provides the raw data...almost always correct...but at some point thoughts still need to be thought.

Yes, and when they need to be thought, they will be, but most of the time we get a lot of negative thoughts that really cut us off from our grand experience here...
Peace.

Well I wouldn't say my thoughts are negative...but they (and the constant flood of them) do tend to pull me to the side of experience. Is it possible to experience and analyze something, both to the full extent, at the same time?

That I could not say... I am not talking about shutting down our thoughts entirely, either, just the "depressing repititons" that he is dealing with, no matter how secure it feels to have them, it all points to a security addiction...

Open your mind, open your world! hehe
Peace.

I think somewhere in what im talking about lies the fear or doing something so ultimately 'wrong' that it goes against the whole plan of one's own existence... extreme neglect and carelessness to one's being which would have enormous repercussions at some later time.
I'll chalk that up to early age Sunday School sessions. heh heh

anyways, i think that might be what i'm trying to get away from. it's easy to escape while in a certain open frame of mind, but i want a full removal.

is anyone ever curious about what experiences actually molded the way we think about the world today?

Lately this topic has been getting a lot of airtime in my head. I think that it is the collection of all experiences that make me who I am.

do you think the earlier experiences have more weight and in some way controlled how you perceived later experiences?

like a hierarchy

"do you think the earlier experiences have more weight and in some way controlled how you perceived later experiences?

That is intresting, could you elberate a little more?

On depression I belive that it is free. You sink into depression easily, takes no effort. Depressions opposite the buzz of life, perhaps, would have opposite properties, it is not free, you do not just sink into it. You have to make the effort, you have to work for it.

Like with art, you have to work to make your creation, then you can buss off it.

On early experiences:

I wanted to make a post on this, but felt it a little off topic...

I was in the supermarket yesterday, waiting at the checkout, and infront of me was a child sitting in the trolly. He was leaning out of it and touching the goods going down the conveyer belt.

He looked fasinated at the brightly coloured packaging. He looked happy. His mother did not see it this way and kept telling him, in a stern voice to "stop it". He carried on though, and a few moments later she came over to him and pulled him back telling him he was a "very naughty boy". At this the child broke out into tears.

How must the child have taken this? He was interacting with his environment, as he nornmaly does, but suddnly it is met with "non love" by his mother. It must have confused him greatly.

Yes!

I think we will learn in coming years just how much of what we think of as "reality" comes into the scene after sensory experience.

As we grow through experience, so does our ability to experience new things that were not previously possible.
