RH of your house affecting a mono grow? If you have proper sub, spawn and a mono it's that easy.

Am I the only retard here whose misted a mono. I'm fanatical about FAE so I leave my polly pretty loose. Personally Id rather have a ton of fresh air and have to mist once in a while.

The only place for my tubs is a walk in closet, so they get alot of fan work and dry out kinda quick. Gotta bumb up that FAE to compensate, but sometimes my top sub/casing gets dry so I usually have to mist after first flush.

I would personally mist after the first flush anyway to replace moisture that was used during the first flush.

It's not but this op was making it too technical and I don't think it's necessary....

I don't mist after the first flush I submerge the whole sub for 24hrs like a cake then drain to replace moisture and get 112g cracker dry...

I'm on my first tub. I can't really ignore nature's way. During the night, plants release moisture and co2. Cooler temps cause the moisture to condensate and build up on surfaces. When the sun comes around plants start photosynthesis(releases o2 and use co2) and the sun/warmer temps evaporate the condensation left from the night.
So, just before bed, I give a light misting, no fan. In the morning I give a lighter mist followed by fan. Through out the day I pull the lid off a few times to allow for a good exchange. Maybe more work than needed.... but hell, it is my first attempt at a tub, so the fact that it isn't a failure is good enough for me.

If you have everything right before putting it in your tub everything will be fine unless you pour a gallon of bleach on it. Monos are that easy...

I agree that the OP was making things to technical. firs time growers generally tend to over think things. Yes Monos are fairly set and forget but depending on the individual situation they can require some additional attention. If the complete set and forget method works for you that's cool. I just like to do a bit more work. That's partly why I don't use monos any more. Difrent strokes for difrent folks.

Photosynthesis has nothing to do with the releasing gasses.....it has everything to do with converting light into energy tho......
Just clarifying........

The release of gas may not be relevant to us, but it does happen. It's a bi product. In some micro climates, cellular respiration and photosynthesis probably have tremendous influence.
In our application, none, I guess.

also mushrooms are not plants they are fungi. They do not get there food energy from the sun threw photosynthesis. They excrete enzymes that digest there food externally. The digested nutrients are the absorbed by the mycelium. The are really nothing like plants.

But they do derive energy from light...just to be clear.

sorry OP this thread has gotten a bit off topic. To answer your question, there is no specific number of mists required. when its dry just mist until its not dry anymore. The number of sprays will vary depending on circumstances. Just be carful not to over saturate your sub.

Thank you... How would you describe oversaturation?
I keep hearing this and that is over complicating, but without some solid numbers or pictures or something concrete how can you know you have oversaturated or fanned to long or anything really without second guessing yourself.
Thanks for trying to answer I know its a simple process and it really should not be so hard... but I mean, to understand something you have to have details and real info beyond a few descriptive words, it can be hard to gauge.. is it just me.. maybe im a freak

Nope its just you. You're a freak. Lol jk
As for the misting and fanning. When I put it into fruiting I just give like 2 or 3 mists above the sub, not at it. Let it mist on it. Then I fan till my arm is tired, a minute or two.
After that I check on it once every like 3 hrs. If water is pooled I dab at it and re-cover my tub for another hr. I use my light and look for the water reflecting the light it gives the surface a glint. When that glint is gone I mist again till the surface shines. Fan till my arm is tired and repeat.
