I'm researching more and more on this site for possible options. Agar...maybe liquid culture, the BRF Agar substitute Vikingsc suggested...
UPDATE: I have clean Mex A mycelium growth in 8 out of 8 of my re-inoculated Rye Grain jars after 7 days! I'm staying optimistic for no contams hopefully, and continuing the gathering of information on this site! Thanks again everyone

I had some 1/2 pint jars of wbs inoculated with a gt spore syringe. 4 weeks in the incubator and no signs of life, my lids have an injection port, wiped it with alcohol and shot up with an A+ LC syringe i made. Fully colonised in 7 days. And if any gt spores survive then happy days, mixed crop

They are growing reasonably slow, but there is SURE progress. I wish I could provide pictures. I'll try to get some pictures this coming weekend. The mycelium is not particularly strong/thick, but not exactly super thing and wispy. Kinda in between. They still have a long way to go, hopefully they don't stall. No signs of contams at all so far. Its been almost 2 weeks.
The main thing to decide now is when/if to shake them. Pictures [hopefully] soon to come!
