Different strains, different high?
    #1943423 - 09/23/03 05:21 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

I know that set and setting is very important and that it influences the high in a big way. But does the psilocybe mushroom strains differ in high in any way? Due to the different percentage of content I think they do! It would be interesting to hear your opinions about this matter.

I Find Orissa India very euphoric, me and my friends are always laughing hard under the influence of this specific strain. It also has very fast onset (5-8 minutes). B+ was not so euphoric and the onset was, if i remember correctly, slower (always taking mushrooms on an empty stomach). Golden Teacher, which i've tried a number of times did not seem as euphoric either, it also had a much slower onset.

In Amstardam mushrooms are grouped acording to there different effects. But with shrooms its hard to say how much of the difference is down to your preconception of the strain or wether its the strain itself. Surley there cant be to much of a difference in the way psilocybe effects the brain from one strain to another.

I don't know either strain that you have mentioned. But I definately think that there is a difference in effect between the various Psilocybe mushrooms.
I personally cannot eat Cubensis. The body high is to intense for me and I end up passing out. (literally.....this has happened all three times I've tried eating the Cubensis)
I can however eat one of the local ones(Cyanescens). The body high seems to be much more relaxed and the visuals more intense.
