New find ID please(print)
    #1943364 - 09/23/03 01:55 AM (20 years, 6 months ago)

I just found these. They were found in a cow field growing out of fairly fresh shit. The only other shroom I have seen growing out of the shit like that was a tall white one with white gills. These are diffrent. I know that they arent the 'cubes that I have found here before.

I am in the process of getting a spore print and will post it as soon as it is ready.

These pix are kinda shitty :frown: I was in a hurry.

Those aren't cubes(don't bruise blue, no purple veil, stems too long and skinny).... But I don't know what they are. Get us that spore print and we'll be able to figure it out.

I've got a few guesses but I'll keep them to my self untill I hear about the print

i agree with mitchanast, im leaning more towards p. antillarum than corpinus.. we have hundreds of them out here in these oklahoma horse pastures.

Can you eat them?
Are they poisonous?

Most Panaeolus are pretty harsh on the stomach. Best left uneaten.

Thanks.
I may go again tonight and try to find some more P. Cubensis. I am trying to find a fresh one. I need a good spore print for my next grow attempt. The last two prints I tok were from old shrooms and I think they were contaminated.

If I cant find a good one I may have to visit http://www.ralphstersspores.com and get a syringe from there.

Thats a little one compaired to some of the ones I saw last night. I only picked a few to get an ID. There were some BIG ones there and LOTS of them. More than I had ever seen before. I had only seen 1 or 2 of them the other times I went, too bad they arent active  :frown:

Each time that I have found cubes, there have also been  tall white shrooms growing right out the middle of piles of shit. The cubes are usually out if the tall white ones are about a foot tall. Easily seen from 20+ feet away. I have never found cubes when that white shroom is small.

They were around 6-7in last night. Im hoping that the cubes will be there tonight. Last night was the first night after the rain. I think that I was early by at least a day. I plan to search the field around 3am. Maybe the cubes will just be comming out then and I can get a fresh one.

Just posted and deleted this by accident after getting ready to post it. Those are actually average Paneolus antillarum caps GGreatOne234.
Here are two large normal caps to which i am use to seeing. I have even bigger ones than this if nbecessary somewher ein my files of forty to fifty thousand shroom images.

here are 2 large hands of Panaeolus antillarum shrooms.

MJ: those are larger than any i've seen. btw; do you havea good system for the organization of all your images? i couldn't even begin to keep track of that many files without some kind of database system.

Cool pix MAIA!

You were face to face with horse poo for that last shot.

Those were big too.

I hope the ones I saw last night are there again tonight. I will take my camera to the field with me and get some more pix.
