Make sure your jars can withstand the heat. I work with plastic jars only, and I had to spend some time looking for jars of the right size that could withstand temperatures in excess of 90C.

It helps to put a towel on the bottom of the pressure cooker and make sure the plastic does not touch the metal sides of the PC, also keep the heat as low as you can while maintaining pressure.

PP (Polypropylene) can usually withstand upto 125c, if it says that is is microwave safe, chances are its PP. But I have found it can still melt if it comes in contact with the metal
