Really, for most of you this is the case.
Pot greatly magnified my tendency to anxiety. They thought I was an anxious rapid cycling bipolar. No ma'am, I was a daily pot smoker. It took years for my mind to return to normal, but it did.
Quitting tobacco and coffee almost killed my anxiety issues and I feel so healthy now.
YES, YOUR MODERATE USE IS GIVING YOU ISSUES. Look there first for solutions to what ails your mind, rather than bad genes or psychs you only use once every full moon. The daily habits.

Man, I completely agree with all of this.
The only one of these substances I use is caffeine, but it has really got a hold of me. I've tried several times to stop using it, but it never lasts more than a month.
The reason I drink coffee is because I am always tired in the mornings and it gives me a flood of energy and positive ideation; it seems to help with my digestion; it's high in antioxidants; and because I like the idea that a regular caffeine habit can help strengthen cognitive function, especially later in life.
However, I have to deal with the flip side of the coin, which is that caffeine gives me constant physical tension in my head when I drink it in my normal quantities (i.e. two very strong cups a day), and ripping headaches when I go too long without having any (i.e. more than ~24 hours). It also might contribute to the anxiety and depression that I constantly experience, and my sleep difficulties.
Wiccan, I remember you were a serious coffee connoisseur. When did you quit? Has it really helped you? And, most importantly, did you replace that habit with another habit, like decaf or some other drink that stimulates mental energy?

I'M not wiccan seeker. But regarding energy
I get better energy with juicing vegetables. Some carrots and beats celery spinach kale, things alike. probably the clearest energy I've ever felt And the best natural feeling/high I've ever felt
but not everyone has time or access to a juicer.
I think a 5-10 min jog gets the blood pumping good or a few pushups
meditation I've noticed gets me on another level of focus, I'm usually not tired nor super energetic but aware and focused and in a great neutral state to go either way if it's at night or I have to do something I need energy for. It's used as preparation mode for me. I used to be meditate before I would warm up before hockey. It was great. clears you which ultimately will give you maximum energy output without distraction after you get the blood pumPin.
Meditate 20-30 min 2 times a day. Over the next couple weeks you will see huge differences

I quit around the time I quit tobacco so, somewhere between 6-9 months ago. However I did not completely quit. I totally quit coffee, which clocks at 125mg caffeine per cup. Dont miss it nearly as much as I expected. I loved the flavor of gourmet coffees but now I'm without I dint really miss it much.
It helped me a LOT with my stress/anxiety/chest feeling.
But, I didnt quit fully. After having been quit for 2 months I still had startup problems in the morning, so what I do now is take a 100mg caffeine pill, break it in 4 and start every morning with 25mg caffeine, which is no buzz but exactly enough to get the day going.
So, I'm on 25mg caffeine in the morning as maintenance. It gives me no trouble.

My experience is the same as Wiccan. I've had to recognise and accept that pot has a huge effect on my anxiety/depression levels. For me, my use makes my mind tend toward self-analysis, which is not inherently bad but it becomes too much whereby I can't help but have those thoughts.
Further to this, weed simply makes me think too much which impedes my ability to communicate and act. I find I also lose motivation/initiative. I become very passive.
I actually love having weed but I only do it in very small amounts (usually vaped) and not too often these days.
As others have said though, it seems to depend on the strain of weed. I was told of a documentary which experimented with weed and found some strains made people totally lose their shit, whereas other types made them very relaxed and giggly - I need to find out what it's called... And I wish we had better regulation and access to tailored highs.
Also, on the other hand, I know people who function fine with heavy weed usage. I think it depends a lot on your underlying psychology.

I think the problem here might be equating a personal experience with a universal experience.
But if that's the case, everybody be sure to not eat Spaghetti-O's, cause they gave me diarrhea, so they will give it to you to, so dont eat them, trust me, I'm an experienced drug user.
