Ovoids are hella aggressive. I have an alder block, thats like 8 inches across and a foot long, sitting on my patch. If you lift it up its attached, but if you break it loose you see the whole face is colonized!!
I even have it colonizing an old brick!
I sacrifice roaches to it and it eats em up! :joint:

Oh that was you with the big wood block!? I've seen pics of that. How long before that big block will have some fruits on her? Seems like that block would almost create in effect, a truffle-like storage of mycelium. If your patch gets destroyed (yeah right) somehow, that block would probably be able to regenerate the entire world with ovoids! Lol

Do the roaches seem to give it a boost?  Have you ever tried throwing a piece of deer poo in there or something for a N boost?  They like growing under vegitation where deer and other creek dwelling animals dump one off.  I throw in there the occasional (sterilized) pile of soil "pellets" that is formed by  rodents or something digging a hole in a mucky creek flood area.  It really gives it a kick when it appears to be struggling.

Rye works great I use what is seasonal on the local farms here.  Rye in the spring.  Feed corn in the fall.  No need to dry I just put in the freezer to store and use the cobs to keep the mulch bed wet.  What also works great is to lay out a tarp when the cherry pits drop in the summer.

Dont know if you caught that, but i MEANT joint roaches, hence the big joint emoticon!

No that was nightflyer's willow block. I never saw what happened with it.
I have my own now. Its not quite as dope yet though.

But ya you can place the block on new chips and inoc that way. I did that with my bonsais too , cuz the myc comes out the drain holes.

You could do it forever!! Plus every year, take out half the myc, plant it, and put in some fresh chips so its constantly eating and growing. Its what I do with my bonsais already.

Ok, so you torched the glove box and now use clear trash bags as glove boxes?

I would love to see some pics of the charred remains of the old glove box.  And the new one too.
