The University of Victoria in British Columbia has a club called Hempology. The course is free and runs at 3:00PM - 4:00PM wednesday. Afterwards, the class goes to the middle campus field to blaze for 4:20. There is on average 50 participants every week showing their support by blazing with them in the 4:20 circle. Furthermore, the professor of the class, was the founder of one of the first medical marijuana dispensaries in the city, and hands out free joints during the session. Did I mention that the university accepts miscellaneous vendors to openly sell pipes and bongs?

University of Guelph. Nice smallish town and great university culture.

Fleming College
Met lots of hippie forestry types through work who went there. Pretty decent job market for forestry technicians too I believe, at least if you move to where the jobs are. Timber cruising (aka forest surveying) was something I did one year, pretty good money but I would have made more as a technician.

It must be once a week I read a post that puts me one step closer to packing my bags, quitting my job and moving the fuck to BC. As soon as I graduate my current program...

There's an "unofficial" nude beach near where I live but I think it has kind of a gay sex focus, not really my kind of scene.

Just got back from Vancouver, I used to go to there and victoria all the time as a kid, first time as an adult. It's a beautiful city compared to Toronto, even with all the rain.. I'm seriously considering moving there as soon as this semester's over and I'm done with school.

Yup Wreck Beach is definitely full of sexy young UBC students during the warm summer days. LSD is everywhere in BC.

Fleming College for the win! the campus in Lindsay, Ontario. it's a natural resource school, with programs like ecosystem management (which is what i'm taking) and fish & wildlife, and forestry. some courses include trees and shrubs of ontario, wildlife observation, and ecology. majority of classes take place outside! lots of tree huggin', environment lovers here

It depends on what you like. It's certainly pretty but it's less vibrant.

If you're gonna base your decision on whether or not a college is hippie or not, I think you have your priorities in the wrong place. No matter what college you choose, you'll always find the crowd you're looking for. Don't limit you options.

That was my suggestion too. Did not go myself but I've met and worked with a number of cool people who did. Good job prospects for graduates from there as well IME.

True, but Earth Physics(geology) and Wind Physics(meteorology, wind energy etc.) is pretty hippie
lets create windmills everywhere and save the environment, including this paper Im writing emails on
my employeer would usually write "PS please dont print this email, consider the trees" etc in her signature ;-)
being hippie is just loving what you are doing and spreading the love, and if that is math then you are a math hippie hippies are everywhere

Yeah that's a pretty marketable qualification. When I did timber cruising (forest resource inventory) I was making $150-200 a day without it, but for the techs it was more like $200-300 if they were good. The actual measurement work is not really that much effort, a lot of it is just getting to the locations. Basically you just smoke weed all day and bomb through the forest as fast as you can. The measurements are mostly counting trees with a prism, and a couple soil textures and age measurements etc.
