Taking your dog on a walk

idk about anyone else, but my dog gets super excited when I mention going on a walk. As soon as "walk" is heard, he won't let it go. He will jump at me and playfully bite and tug on me even as I'm getting my shoes and coat on. He runs over to the leash and nudges it then runs to me. It's so funny. Then when I get the leash on him he freaks even more and grabs the leash with his mouth and jumps wildly up and down, all around like a bull or some shit lol.
I live in the country so there are plenty of woods and trails we like to walk on. As soon as we get in the woods I let him off the leash and he runs around loving it. Dogs amaze me how much energy they have. Me and him can go on a really long walk all over the woods and he has constant energy the whole time. He's nuts.
I like to take a walk in the woods with my dog and smoke. I took some mxe and embarked on a walk with him as it kicked in one time. That was interesting. There's this field in the woods around here and I just sat down in that field and smoked a bowl as my dog ran around and the mxe got stronger and the sun was setting. After the bowl I got up and we walked down a trail to a pond, where I realized I no longer had my bowl on me. Oh no... and it was now dark. I figured it would be right where I sat and smoked earlier so I backtracked, in the woods in the dark, on mxe. Then I found it right where I thought I would. That was a fun walk that evening.
Another time in the morning after a heavy/scary as fuck acid trip me and my dog went on a walk.. I figured it would help ground me. It did. That morning was magical. Brought a couple joints with me. Nothing like a beautiful sunny morning accompanied with an acid afterglow, smoking some joints, and playing with the dog in the woods
This post turned out to be way longer than I planned lol. So basically, let's discuss walking our dogs. I'm bored and figured this is something to talk about.

If I say "you ready" in a somewhat excited tone my dog goes crazy just like you said. Jumping around, nudging me with her nose while I get my shoes on, etc. She never uses a leash so she just gets near the front door, ready to bust out. And most of our walks are on trails like you said.. There is something about walking through the woods alone with your dog, it is amazing.
She loves carrying sticks, has one in her mouth 90% of the time we are walking. And usually they are about 4 feet long, and she is only a 35 lb austalian shepherd.
Here she is from a hike a couple weeks ago. I took 2g of some of my mushies and got out the day after about 5 inches of snow. It is amazing seeing no tracks in the snow besides your own and the animals in the woods. It had been close to a year if not more since my last trip and hike, so it was a blast.

All I have to say is "Go outside?" and my dog starts herding me towards the door. She's a super wimp about the rain, though, and won't go outside without her rain jacket. If she's wearing it, she'll walk around all damned day in a monsoon.

My dog goes crazy every time I say "go for a walk?" or "go for a ride?" or "wanna a treat?" haha. He even knows some of my family member's names. If I say, "B is gonna take you for a walk," he will go run over to "B" and jump up and down. Dogs are so intelligent. They spend all day observing us and studying us, so it really doesn't surprise me that they've decoded parts of the human language.

They haven't decoded the human language, more or less just associate certain sounds with certain things. When I first got my pup at 3 months I used random words for common tricks. Like 'taco' was used for her to jump up on my legs, 'turtle' for roll over, etc. People would always be confused when I said random words to my dog and she did something ha.
And I think a lot of it has to do with the tone in which we speak to the with. Like if you say 'go for a walk' in a really mean sounding voice, I doubt the dogs will have the same response as to if you were to say it in a light and exciting tone.

dodgem that sounds wonderful, and that picture is halarious!
Yeah Space Elf, my dog knows all of our names in our family. His favorite is "mommy." He follows her around as if she is his lifeline. It's funny to watch him freak out when he can't find her in the house anywhere and she's hiding. He gets this terrified look on his face and runs around frantically searching. It's so funny. He loves to play hide and seek.
