Excellent book on self-realization
    #19404677 - 01/11/14 04:40 PM (10 years, 19 days ago)

I just wanted to recommend LOVEBLISS The Essence of Self-realization by Jan Essman.

My sister gave me this book for Christmasn and it is truly of one of the best spiritual books I have ever read. It clears up so many misconceptions about what self-realization really is and what it isn't.

If you follow my posts you know I have been into Tony Parsons and Adyashanti lately. This book is just so much better than anything I have seen from either of them. All Tony Parsons does is repeat over and over that there is no "me" that can become enlightened and I find adyashanti can be quite repetitive himself and vague at times, almost as if his teachings are watered down to appeal to a wider audience.

This book on the other hand is filled will helpful information as well as ideas I have not heard anywhere else that have helped clear up things I have been confused about for years. The meditation techniques given in the book are also extremely powerful in my experience.

If you want a taste of his material, he has a website with a fair amount of his teachings on it (just google his name) and here is Buddha at the gas pump interview: http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DyENsCReaXJg&sa=U&ei=XdTRUveKGee-2gXBkYDgCg&ved=0CCAQtwIwAA&sig2=zs_X4MHoMizGiROBjVt6gQ&usg=AFQjCNExwROPSP-fS6mpHLEG6gJSejefNQ though be warned the interview is almost completely about his personal story and contains very few if any practical teachings.
