wbs sticking together

I just inoculated some jars. But the WBS is like stuck together because it is wet. The top of it is crumbly.
Should I open the top and move the seeds around if I have gloves? or is this a bad idea?
Is it normal to stick together?

work on your grain prep, soak for 12-24 hours gypsum optional but i highly recommend it.
then bring to a simmer/boil and dump into collander as soon as it starts bubblin to realease the steam and dry the grain
dont cook your wbs

gypsum is an additive, you can get it at aces or lowes etc. add roughly about 1tablespoonish per jar while its soaking in the pot or w/e you use to soak it in, and leave it when you boil

yes it is a solid mass and yes there is cracked corn. I did not keep track of the time when I was simmering and I may have boiled it because it was like a sludge after it was boiled.
Should I wait and restart? Or will it still work?

ok so what i did wrong was not se gypsum, over boiled, not rinsed enough, and didn't shake after pressure cooking right?
I filled the jars 3/4 th's
Could I have filled it too much?
They are filled to the 700 milliliter line on a standard ballpark quart jar.

how long was your simmer, just bring water up to simmer then shut the heat off and drain and steam/dry

i actually lost track of time so that is probably the reason for it. maybe it was 30-40 minutes but It was boiling or bubbling the whole time.
Oh well, I'll try and find some gypsum tomorrow and restart.
So I can't take a knife and wipe it with alcohol and stir up the seeds?
It shakes around on the top and on the bottom but it sticks together in the middle.
It's like a big lump that won't break up

what would be the negative side of putting a knife in and mixing it?
It would still be sludgy?
I just used some spores so I want to try and save it.

contamination would be hitting the jar if you did that more then 90% likely so you would still lose the jar before the spores get a chance to germinate

it shouldnt ever be sludgy, everyone has their own way i just bring to simmer and dump.
some simmer. if you choose to simmer i think 10mins would be the max
you want inner grain hydrated.
hense get the grains hot and steam leaving the surface of said grain drys it.
stir occasionaly why they are in collander to release more steam
its easy as tits
if done properly they should roll around like bbs in your jar with or w/o gypsum

yes they were cracked. I have spent so much time and money on this. Once it works everything will change. No more negativity in my life.
Tomorrow I'm gonna wake up, have some weed milk, then go look for some gypsum at Ace hardware and restart.
I spend so much money on weed, I think having shrooms will make it so I don't need to smoke as much.

Yea you simmered a bit too long. A few cracked kernals are ok but you don't want a bunch of them. Best of luck to you hope all goes well this time around

np bro. just work on your grain tek, youre not cooking the wbs just getting water hot enought so steam releases off the grain.
as soon as it hits simmer transfer to collander
