I would throw her in a big white or clear plastic bag. to fully colonize and consolidate more. once you see hyphal knotting or pins... then birth it again...

So it won't hurt to do that with verm on it already?

not too sure of that... but you could rinse the verm off, then proceed ?

Yeah, 1 foot away didnt really help, but that last semi-close up helped.
I would try putting some dry, fresh vermiculite all over the straw log. My guess is that the pins need something more to grip on? Something more dense maybe?
I wish an expert grower would come in, like Roadkill or RR, cause Im not familiar with fruiting directly from straw.
Where did you get this straw tek technique from? Did you just make it up....

Not all of it. Myc has started to overtake it in some places on the side even though it's been only a day, well 36 hours now. My only concern is hurting the aerial mycelium when placing it back in a bag, and should the bag be tight like the original or more loose to to accommodate the myc?

It's the lets grow mushrooms straw log tek to the t. I also thought about adding verm all over since some myc has already taken over what I've place there. Now should I be concerned about pinning on the underside? Verm all over sounds logical...???

more loose. just enough for gas exchange. I don't think it will hurt the aerial myc. gl.i don't have any experience with straw grows either. but I looks alittle undercolonized/ consolidated to me...or just let her go as your doing and just see what happens. it should fruit eventually... once it starts evaporating from fae...interesting thread...

I just want to give it what it needs an make it healthy. I really don't mind things being difficult, but I hate failure.

Verm is on. When should I, if at all mist the verm?

I think so. I know from PF teks, they put verm under the cakes and pins usually come out there for some reason. I would try put all over with a layer right underneath it.
How long has it been "pinning" like this?

You might wanna rewatch the video cause you did not follow to a T. For one the log stays in the plastic.

Vid says to take off the plastic when mycelium pokes through the holes, and I thought that was happening (aerial mycelium) but I guess I was confused. The entire thing was covered in myc. Anyways, it has been in this state for 5-7 days now. Verm is on but I'm still not sure of when to mist it given the amount of precipitation on it already
