4 seeds and a dream...

Alright. So I got 4 cannabis seeds from a bag. I've been doing a lot of thinking and research. I've decided I either will have some seeds that will like to go hermie on me, or just going to be regular seeds.
Anyway, my purpose with these 4 seeds is not to get a harvest, but to grow them to flowering as fast as possible and get more seeds. From those I will intend to get a harvest another year.
My options are very limited. It needs to be an indoor grow with stealth and size being the main issue. After a few weeks of growth, if possible, I would like to train them horizontally or in a tight spiral along with pruning to keep them from outgrowing their space, without killing them or slowing my grow if possible.
I have a strong gardening background and currently am growing , cacti, succulents, carnivorous plants, orchids, bromeliads, misc. tropicals, and a few rarities. I understand how important soil nutrition, aeration, moisture retention, and ph can be. But ph is my weakness until I have a device to measure it, an air circulation until I can nullify the smell. I can supply strong lighting via CFL bulbs and can maintain photo periods via timer.
If you have any suggestions about what I can do please post. I may not even do the grow for fear of the worst. Thanks in advance.

Ah man, forget what people say about bag seeds,it's all I've ever grown, and I rarely get any Hermies. You can grow some fire from bagseeds,if the bags of herbs you got were really good;-)I've even taken some brick seeds, and grown them into some kill too.I mean you probably wont get some Sour D,or Bubblelicious, but the quality will get you stoned, and do it well

Well that's great news about the hermies. If I get a real sexy lady maybe I will make some clones of her.
And I suppose I should go check out the Growery...

Should I go hydro? I did some browsing and at a local store I can get an air pump, air stones and tubing for about 10$. And decent tub for 5$. I imagine I could save a bit of growing space by doing such, right?
Hookah, I love everything from grass to trees! Love won't be a problem:)

DD, what you are describing is a DWC or Deep Water Culture system.
For some reason a lot people seem to think this is the only "Hydro", or using Hydroton (clay) pellets.
Technically Hydro is any growing where the medium (where the roots are) is inert, or completely void of nutrients.
This is why Coco, or Coco/Perlite is technically Hydroponics, even though to the lament it looks almost like soil.
IMO, from many yrs of Hydroponic growing, DWC is by far the worst of all of the Hydroponics systems. Cannabis plants are not made to have their roots constantly submerged in water. They are a weed, not a reed.
That being said, I absolutely LOVE coco. My grower friends and I have a saying that once you go Coco, you never go back.
Just remember to invest in a good pH meter. If you've never done a basic soil grow I would start with that first as well. I did, most people do.

EDIT: Bluelab is a good recommendation for a pH/EC Meter, they are fantastic. Don't go with Hanna, the whole industry seems to agree that they kind of fell off at one point and starting skimping on quality control.

Yeah. Maybe I had better stick to soil for this time around. Thanks for the tip Mallacht.
But when you use coco and perlite what system do you use? Do you just water with fert water on a regular basis and essentially treat it as a normal potted plant? I have half a brick of coco peat and plenty of pumice. And to make life easier on the ph i am going to be using distilled water. It's cheap here.

I run a hand watering DTW (Drain to Waste) system. My flood tables are slightly arched on one side so that the water drains directly into a reservoir. The same could be done if I were using either a drip system or sprinkler/spray type heads in each pot.
I use a Hydroponic nutrient regimen that is specifically designed for Coco. I use House and Garden's Cocos A & B. It's a great nutrient base, I've been using it for many years of successful, dank, BIG harvests. I've tried a few others and I've never been nearly as impressed as with House and Garden's products. Their Roots Excelurator is the best root enhancer on the market, by far.
I wouldn't use that brick Coco, that stuff is garbage. Use either Canna Coco, Gold Label, Black Label, Botanicare Coco. Botanicare makes an "airy" mix that is already mixed 50/50 with Perlite, so does Black Label. Roots Organics makes their "Soiless" formula that is essentially Coco/Perlite 50/50, but also has kelp meal, worm castings, and green sand.
Distilled water is actually not recommended for plants, for the most part. Distilled water isn't good to drink because it can actually strip the body of nutrients. It can potentially do the same thing to plant substrates. I would instead use RO Water. The water that comes from water stores is RO Water, it's basically just very well-filtered drinking water.
Hopefully you have a Hydroponics store somewhere near you that can steer you in the right direction. I would go there and get a few legitimate products, some coco, etc. Hope all of this helps.
