Using a spore syringe for moisturizing SGFC perlite
    #19403531 - 01/11/14 12:09 PM (10 years, 20 days ago)

Any of you guys do this? I just discovered it today: you can water the perlite, without opening the cover! Just shoot straight into one of the drilled holes. Its kinda fun too, its like a game. Put out the fires around the delicate mushroom houses!

Also, you can "inject water" into the perlite on the holes at the perlite level.

Yeah, you could do that, but why? You don't need to water perlite, but you do need to mist and fan your cakes.

For some reason, my SGFC dries out really quick when I mist. Like within a couple hours, its already dry. Must be my house heating or something.

I use this when I want to "store" water in the perlite for longer evaporation times, cause I cant mist it 3 times a day during the light cycle.

You don't necessarily have to mist during the light cycle. t can be any time.

Don't water your perlite like that, just soak it in some water. It'll be good for a few weeks if you mist your FC properly.

Also this. Reverse engineering only works when you get it back to normal at some point.

Perlite too dry? Just take the cakes out, toss tub in bathtub, and run the shower over it. Or if your lazy like me, just get a pitcher of water, and pour some right into the perlite around the cakes.
